You’ve probable heard the phrase Love yourself. And you are asking yourself questions on how to do that. You might have been in a relationship that is one-sided and you know you are the one being exploited or loving too much. You might have just left a relationship that you hoped would end in marriage after dating for a long time and have now broken up, separated or divorced and you feel that you gave too much of yourself in the relationship that you lost yourself in it, your faith in God or your self esteem shattered and you feel like you’re useless. Let’s start here.
- Acknowledge that you took part in the mistake also. You also did something wrong and that other person isn’t perfect. Acknowledge that he or she can also make a mistake like you also can. Believe that as much as it didn’t work it doesn’t mean that you will never find a better person. Accept that you’ll find a better person and that that person will also find a better person that you even if you feel like killing them right now(by the way don’t, you’ll be committing murder and you’ll go to jail and hell afterwards). It’s OK to be angry but don’t let that anger change into hate and become recentful. If you are angry for a long time just know that you are changing your belief system into a toxic one unknowingly in that you’ll be giving the other person the upper hand to torture you even when they don’t have anything against you. In simple terms forgive them and forgive your self. Pray for then to have the best that they ever want in life. Love them from a far as a brother or a sister. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.
- Affirm that you are strong, you are a blessing. You did your part. Now it’s over. It’s a new life. Things are going to be better. You are going to be stronger and you are now wiser than you were. You now know what not to do in a relationship. Define yourself as the best person in the world because that’s what even God sees about you. He sees you as His Child, as the best creature he created. He see you are who you are, and not your mistakes. If you are not born again accept Jesus he will help you heal better.
-Now take yourself out for dinner, buy yourself gifts here and there. Walk out of places where their talk or walk is wicked the Bible says in Psalm 1:1 blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). Sometimes it’s good you cut off some people from your life. You don’t have to be friends with everyone.
- Look for something to do improve yourself. Buy books if you are a reader and read them. Rely on God’s word about you. The Bible says, in 2 Corinthians 3:18 And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit. When we keep looking into the word of God we keep getting transformed by it daily and our minds and hearts find it easy to forgive and move on without holding any grudges.
-If you are someone who works complement other people and help them feel good about themselves. Show kindness to people more everyday. Remember Luke 6:38 says, whatever you give you receive pressed down shaken together and rolling over. And Galatians 6:7 whatever you sow you shall reap. If you give kindness you are sowing kindness into people’s lives and guess what, when the seed grows into a tree and the tree into a forest you shall eat the fruits there of. Proverbs 13:2. And Psalm 128:2. As you do it, do it as unto the Lord not for men. Do it for the glory of God with your heart. Collosians 3:23
- Don’t let the devil lie to you that you’ll never find Love. Remember God is love. He is the one who gives, spouses, children, and other things that we need in life. His life in you should be able to rejuvenate you to feel good about yourself and lift your self esteem and self worth. God says that He has bought you with a price. (His Blood on the cross at Calvary). You are valuable to Him. His love is eternal Psalm 136.
- Give thanks unto God for life and giving you direction in life. Focus on making Him proud. You don’t have to listen to people who discourage you. They don’t matter. If they are all around you, remember they are there to remind you that they also need someone to show them love so that they don’t treat people like they do. They need to experience the Love of God in their lives. Keep praying for them. Thank God that He has a plan for you, not for disaster or destruction but to give you a hope. Always call unto Jesus the author and the finisher of your faith to and He will always answer you. He listens better than anybody can.
- Surround yourself with people who enable you to be better. Surround yourself with believers who pray and you’ll see the changes in your life. You’ll start to pray, you will hear the word of God more and you’re g
